Ulu Knife- July 2025
Price range: $155.00 through $175.00Students will forge an Ulu Knife from high carbon steel including heat treating and grinding. The Ulu is a knife used throughout Canada and Alaska typically used by indigenous people for food preparation, such as cutting fish, meat and vegetables. Originally used to clean animal skins, today the best chefs use it to chop, mince and dice.

Viking Knife- March 2025
Price range: $155.00 through $175.00The student will hand forge a small Viking Knife, also called a blacksmith knife. The knife is a one piece, all metal design with an integral handle. The blade will be heat treated, ground and sharpened in class. This one-day class will cover the basic theory and practice of knife making and is a good introduction for the beginner.

Walnut Frame Mirror- May 2025

Weave a Keepsake II Basket- August 2025
Price range: $176.00 through $201.00The student is truly the designer in this basket weaving class. Students will be given the spokes – some dyed and some natural – and customize where they would like to place them to create a distinct design. Wonder of Nature Mosaic Stepping Stones- February 2025
Price range: $215.00 through $255.00What is your favorite vision of Nature? Is it the sunshine, birds, flowers, or a particular scene? Bring your idea or sketch along to this workshop, and capture your image in tile, stone and glass to create a colorful artwork that will enhance your garden or yard for years to come. Beginner to experienced artists welcome! Students will utilize brightly colored porcelain tiles, as well as glass tiles, stained glass, seashells and pebbles. (Bring a couple of permanent items to add to your project, if you'd like!) Kate has all the "tesserae," tools and expertise you'll need to shape your pieces and set them in mortar, which will comprise our first day of work. Day two will be a shorter day, grouting and admiring your finished piece, which will be ready to take home! Artist Kate Hartley, who created the North Creek Mosaic Project Mural with over 2000 volunteers, will guide you in bringing your own vision into mosaic form. She's been teaching visual arts to people of all ages for four decades, and delights in encouraging individual expression in artists of all experience levels.

Wooden Cross-Country Skis- December 2025

Woodland Chic Leather Earrings- August 2025
Price range: $180.00 through $205.00Using designs pulled directly from nature, we'll be making hand painted leather earrings recreating animal prints native to the North Country. Students will select two different prints, then learn how to stamp patterns and apply dyes to leather. Additionally, we will add natural elements with ties to the region, such as pyrite and freshwater pearls. To complete the earrings, we'll add sterling silver ear wires. Longest earring length is approximately 3".
