Fiber Arts

AFS UFO Studio, formerly known as Sewing Circle, is an out of this world opportunity for fiber artists to come and complete the UnFinished Objects floating around their home. UFO Studio is free to attend, and though it is non-instructional, peer-to-peer help is always available. All forms of projects are welcome – bring your unfinished weaving, sewing, embroidery, rug hooking, knitting, crocheting, felting, or any other project that involves fiber handwork. AFS has a couple of sewing machines, small looms, and hand tools available but please feel free to bring your own!

In this class you?ll weave a soft woolen scarf. This is a great project for a new weaver. The pattern is simple and easy to follow, and the results are stunning.

Location: 1476 U.S. 9, Lake George, NY 12845, Alfred Z. Solomon Lake George Annex, located on Rt. 9 in the Log Jam Outlets immediately behind the Log Jam Restaurant

Special Notes: Intro to Floor Loom Weaving or other experience in winding a warp and dressing a loom is required for this course.

The basket uses a small jelly roll pack and stiff interfacing to create a ?woven? fabric basket. You will have enough fabric to complete one basket in class and a second at home or in the UFO Studio.
